I can’t believe it. I recently turned 50 and the offers from AARP have been nonstop; especially on Facebook.
The thing is I have no idea if it’s a good idea to join AARP. Last I knew, the organization was viewed as nothing more than a huge lobbying organization. They sure were pretty vocal during the run-up to the passing of the Affordable Care Act.
The other thing I know about AARP is that they tend to offer a lot of products in conjunction with other companies, such as insurance, investments and travel services.
Even with the significant membership discount they offered me when I turned 50, I am very reluctant to join AARP. But, I am open to considering it.
